1. Estimates, not sealed designs
Every tool in this Toolkit produces a preliminary estimate or reference sketch. None of these outputs are — or are intended to be — a sealed structural design, a permit-ready drawing, or a substitute for the signed and sealed work of a licensed civil, structural, electrical, or plumbing engineer.
2. Reference methods used
Calculations follow published, widely taught reference methods: the Fajardo Method for construction material estimating, and provisions drawn from the National Structural Code of the Philippines (NSCP) for structural workbook calculations. These are teaching and estimating references, not a substitute for project-specific engineering analysis performed by a qualified professional who has reviewed your actual site and design conditions.
3. Site conditions vary
Soil bearing capacity, seismic zone, wind exposure, material availability, and local code amendments all affect real designs and are not fully captured by a general-purpose calculator. A qualified engineer must evaluate these factors for any actual construction project.
4. Cost figures are indicative
Any unit prices shown or entered are for planning purposes only. Actual material and labor costs vary by supplier, region, and market conditions at the time of purchase. Always obtain current quotations before budgeting or bidding.
5. Before you build
- Have your structural design reviewed and sealed by a licensed structural engineer where required by law.
- Confirm compliance with the current, locally adopted building code and any local amendments.
- Obtain the necessary building permits before starting construction.
- Verify quantities and costs against current supplier pricing.
6. No liability for construction outcomes
The authors of this Toolkit assume no responsibility for structural failures, cost overruns, code violations, or any other outcome arising from decisions made using these tools. Use of the Toolkit is entirely at your own risk and discretion.
